Member of the Executive Committee of UEMS (European Union of Medical Specialists) council. Author or co-author of almost 40 articles in specialized international magazines with high impact factor. Co-founder of Hernia Basecamp project - education programme of IRCAD academy in Strasbourg. Holder of several awards for best publications in specific fields - British Journal of Surgery, Jedlička award of the Czech Surgical Society, Purkyně Endowment Fund award, Best teacher of the Second Faculty of Medicine at Charles University Prague.
