Our Approach

We are a team of psychiatrists, psychologists and psychotherapists. We provide comprehensive care for children and adolescents; individual, group and family therapy for children, adolescents and their families. We emphasize professionalism, expertise, interconnectedness and a holistic view of each client. We combine medical and psychological methods according to the individual needs of our clients. We also specialize in psychological diagnostics using test methods (autism, cognitive function, etc.) and mental health issues associated with inter-cultural differences and bilingual families.

We emphasize the individual needs not only of the child, but of the whole family, who has the opportunity to participate in the therapeutic process. We approach children and families with respect for the preference for drugs or psychological means. We take into account the cultural background and other specific needs of children and families.

Diagnostics

The diagnosis is based on valid definitions of mental disorders according to ICD-10 (International Classification of Diseases) and DSM-V (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders), clinical examination and subjective difficulties of the child and information from family members. We also use test methods in close co-operation with our psychologists.

Co-operation

We work closely within the mental health care team and with all doctors in our clinic, especially paediatricians, neurologists, ENT doctors or gynaecologists. Physical and mental difficulties are closely linked. We are based on a bio-psycho-social overview of mental health issues. We combine medicines as well as psychotherapeutic and other psychological methods according to the individual needs of our clients.
